There is no declare-war button in Total Battle. Clan against clan warfare is event-driven — it happens because the calendar says so, in structured formats with their own rules, scoring and rewards. Learning the calendar is therefore not optional flavour; it is how you know when fighting is cheap, when it scores, and when it is simply not available.
The three that come round
Dark Omens. Clans are sorted into four-clan divisions. You contribute Omen Essence to your Clan Chalice inside timed windows, and you can sabotage rivals by summoning monsters onto their grounds. It is the most forgiving fighting in the game — see below.
Trials of Olympus. Three-clan divisions running daily stages: raids, hero fights, lava fountains, Tartaros crypts. Different stages reward different kinds of account, so a clan with a broad membership does better than one with a narrow one.
The Great Hunt. Monster-kill contracts, ten per player. Simple, individual, and the easiest of the three to contribute to when you are small.
Why Dark Omens fighting is nearly free
This is the most under-used fact in the clan calendar.
Fighting Dark Omen monsters carries −90% silver revival cost, no irretrievable losses, and no gear damage. Compare that with the ordinary state of affairs — where offensive deaths cost gold, some troops never come back, and every strike costs durability — and it is a different economy entirely.
The counterweight is a Fatigue mechanic that punishes solo spam and forces rotation. You cannot have one strong player farm the whole event. The design wants the clan taking turns, and clans that organise a rota outperform clans that do not.
Because losses are cheap and gear survives, Dark Omens is the right window to try compositions you would not risk otherwise. Testing a stack order costs almost nothing here and a great deal in an ordinary week.
Matchmaking reads your tiers
Divisions are assigned by weighing clan might, member count and troop levels, and that third factor has a consequence people rarely connect back to their research decisions.
Unlocking a troop tier you cannot actually field raises your clan's matchmaking weight anyway. You get harder opponents in exchange for troops you cannot train, feed or rebuild. It is the tier-rush trap from the first-week course, arriving a second time at clan scale — and this time it costs your clanmates too.
Open-map warfare, and the order things fall in
Outside the events, clan warfare on the map has a fixed shape and it is worth knowing before you are in it.
- Forts fall first. A Clan Capital cannot be attacked while any protecting fort still stands.
- When the last fort falls, the Capital becomes attackable.
- The emergency shield activates for twenty hours if all forts are destroyed. It has to be charged in advance, it requires at least one intact fort to charge, and charging it depletes the food supplies of whichever player pays for it.
- If the Capital's walls are destroyed, the Capital is eliminated in seven days.
Read that as a defender and the priority is obvious: forts are not decoration, they are the clock. Read it as an attacker and the twenty-hour shield is the window you have to plan around.
They can only target heroic monster squads, other players, enemy forts and enemy Capitals. They take longer than regular marches and can be accelerated a maximum of four times. A raid also marches at the speed of its slowest participant, and troops gathered for a raid do not defend the raid leader's own city while they are waiting.
Turning up well
Contribution in clan events is visible, logged and remembered.
- Join raids when they are called. Gathering windows are two, five, ten or thirty minutes — being reachable matters more than being large.
- Watch the Fatigue rota in Dark Omens rather than burning your own allowance early.
- Do not unlock tiers you cannot field. It raises the difficulty for everybody in the division.
- Keep a fort standing. For your clan it is the difference between a bad week and an eliminated Capital.

How is clan-versus-clan warfare initiated?
CorrectNot quiteClan warfare is event-driven. Dark Omens, Trials of Olympus and the Great Hunt each have their own rules and scoring.
What makes Dark Omens fighting unusually cheap?
CorrectNot quiteIt is the right window to test compositions. Fatigue stops any one player farming the whole event alone.
What does clan matchmaking weigh?
CorrectNot quiteWhich is why unlocking tiers you cannot field is a clan-scale mistake, not just a personal one.
When does a Clan Capital become attackable?
CorrectNot quiteForts are the clock. Once all of them are destroyed the twenty-hour emergency shield is the only thing left.
