Monument Fragments

Monuments are the statues standing on your dragon's pedestal, and they're built with fragments rather than resources. There are three of them, each with its own fragment that comes from its own event, and none of the three fragments will build either of the others. Here I'll cover what each one gives you, where its fragments actually come from, and which of them is worth chasing.

They aren't called statues

The game, the wiki and every creator covering them use the word Monument. Searching for statue fragments finds Genshin Impact and Elden Ring, and nothing about Total Battle at all. If you've been looking and coming up empty, this is usually why.

The short version

  1. Fragments come from three endgame events. Seasonal Kingdom builds the Monument of Glory, Sands of Destiny builds Azada's Monument, and Sands of Eternity builds the Eternal Guardian.
  2. They don't drop anywhere else. No monster, no crypt, no ordinary chest. If you aren't in one of those three events, you aren't earning fragments.
  3. The first level is most of the value. Founding a monument is a real gain. Grinding it from level nine to level ten is not, and the fragments cost the same either way.

What the monuments are

Monuments are unique city structures, added in April 2026. They sit in the row of slots beneath your dragon, and clicking an empty slot shows you which ones you haven't unlocked. Their bonuses are permanent and account-wide.

There are ten slots in that row and only three monuments so far, so more are coming. That matters for how you spend now: every monument added later competes for the same chests and the same event placings.

The Monument of Glory costs ten times what either of the others does to found, which is a fair guide to how the game rates a flat 50 percent experience bonus.

Monument of Glory

This is the one most players will actually build, and the only one the game has explained on the record. Its fragments sit inside the Mythic Reward Chests in Seasonal Kingdom.

Those are selection chests: you open one and take a single prize. The same chest offers legendary captains like Beowulf, Skadi and Heimdall, and mythic artifacts like the Heart of the Forest and the Forest Crown. Taking the fragments means giving up the captain or the artifact, and that trade is the real cost here.

  • Mythic Reward Chests come from unlocking Guardsmen divisions in Seasonal Kingdom. Higher divisions, more chests.
  • The same chests turn up in your research camp, which is easy to miss.
  • A Mythic Reward Chest has been reported to carry around 140 fragments, enough to found the monument at 100 with two upgrades left over.
  • Fragments can also be won in the Guardsmen IX division of Sands of Eternity, a much narrower door than the Seasonal Kingdom route.

The bonus applies in battles you lose as well as ones you win, so it earns its keep during a rough week rather than only a good one. The natural window to have it built is Season's Legacy, the experience event that follows a Seasonal Kingdom's close, where an experience bonus compounds hardest.

Azada's Monument

Sands of Destiny is a board game, run by a genie called Azada. You earn dice, roll them, and move that many tiles around her board. Where you land decides what you get: some tiles pay gold, silver, speed-ups and dragon orbs, some push you forwards or backwards, and the ones that matter here pay Crystals of Desire.

The monument is not something you land on. Crystals are the event's currency, and you spend them in the Sands of Destiny shop, which is where the fragments are sold. Everything else in that shop competes for the same crystals: mercenaries, animated frames, artifact summoning keys, and the Fortress of Fortune, which one creator reckoned would take fifteen to twenty runnings of the event to afford without paying.

What it actually costs

2,500 Crystals of Desire buys 10 fragments, and 10 fragments unlocks the monument and starts construction. So one purchase founds it. Note that the wiki says 20 fragments to construct and prices them in gems rather than crystals; a filmed walkthrough of the shop disagrees on both, and that's what this page follows.

  • Treasure tiles and mega treasure tiles hold most of the crystals.
  • Mystery tiles and Azada's starting tile hold fewer.
  • Milestone rewards for rolling pay out crystals too, so volume of dice matters as much as where you land.
  • Reward tiles gain research points as you land on them and pay out more once they level, and finishing a full lap gives a research point to two random reward tiles.
  • Ruler's Dice put you on an exact tile instead of leaving it to the roll, which is why they're the event's most wanted reward.

Dice come from the daily reward, from daily missions, and from the event's battle pass, and fully exploring a crypt drops Azada lamps that move the pass along. The pass has paid tiers, and the honest read from someone who played it through is that you can't max the event without spending. Playing free gets you a handful of rewards a day and not quite enough to keep rolling.

The base level gives 3,000 might, 3% experience and 6% valor. It runs to level 45, where it reaches 35% experience and 70% valor.

Who this one is for

Azada's looks like the one monument that isn't locked behind T9. The giveaway is that it pays valor points, which T9 players have no use for. A G6 gate has been suggested instead, but nobody has confirmed what the gate actually is.

Eternal Guardian

The wiki still lists this monument's fragment source as unknown. It isn't unknown, it's just undocumented, and the requirement attached to it has cost players whole events.

T9 before the event opens, not during

You need all three specialists at T9 when Sands of Eternity starts, and you need to place in your division. Unlocking T9 partway through doesn't count. You'll play the event, place, and receive no fragments.

This happened to BattleBites on the first running. She had held her specialist unlocks back so she could carry a title into Seasonal Kingdom 6, which is a common and otherwise sensible plan. Sands of Eternity opened during the hold, she unlocked everything, played it hard, and got nothing, because the game had already read her as pre-T9 when the event began.

  • The event now runs one day rather than two, and sits alongside Clash of Thrones, Shadow Invasion and Season's Legacy.
  • It pays experience only. There are no valor points in it, whatever the forums say. It is a good place to push a hero or a captain up several levels.
If you qualified and got nothing

There's a delivery failure worth knowing about. One player met the conditions and received no fragments while clanmates on the same run received theirs. Open the dragon pedestal and click the tiles: if the Eternal Guardian still reads as unearned, file a tech report. That's a bug rather than a requirement you misread.

Whether to build them

Build the first level, then stop. That's the wiki's own advice and the sweep didn't turn up a good argument against it.

  • The base level carries the value. Nothing to 6 percent experience is a real change. Grinding 20 fragments a time from 44 to 50 percent is not.
  • In a Mythic Reward Chest the fragments are usually the wrong pick. A legendary captain or a mythic artifact does more for you than six points of experience. Take fragments once your captain and artifact needs are genuinely met, not before.
  • These are late-game structures. They exist to give the strongest accounts somewhere to keep progressing once G9 and a high hero level make ordinary progression crawl. Below that the opportunity cost is steep.

Claims

The monuments themselves

M001confirmed

Monuments are unique city structures added in April 2026, built and upgraded with fragments rather than resources, sitting in a ten-slot row beneath the dragon.

M002single

Construction and upgrade costs are 100 and 20 fragments for the Monument of Glory, and 10 and 10 for the Eternal Guardian. Recorded on the wiki only. The wiki's figure for Azada's Monument is contradicted by a filmed walkthrough, so treat these two with the same caution until someone films them.

Monument of Glory

M008official

Monument of Glory fragments are found in the Mythic Reward Chests of Seasonal Kingdom, which also appear in the research camp. The chests are selection chests offering legendary captains and mythic artifacts as alternatives.

M009official

The Monument of Glory's experience bonus stays active in battles the player loses as well as ones they win, and reaches 50 percent at maximum level.

M003single

A Mythic Reward Chest yields around 140 Monument of Glory fragments. Reported once; it is not clear whether this is a fixed amount.

M010confirmed

Monument of Glory fragments can also be won in the Guardsmen IX division of Sands of Eternity.

Azada's Monument

M011official

Sands of Destiny is a board game: dice are earned from event activities, rolled, and used to move around a board of reward, treasure, mega treasure, movement and mystery tiles. Crystals of Desire come mostly from treasure and mega treasure tiles, with fewer on mystery and starting tiles, and are exchanged with Azada for her treasury's rewards, of which a legendary monument is the grand prize. Reward tiles level as they are landed on, and a completed lap grants a research point to two random reward tiles.

M004single

2,500 Crystals of Desire buys 10 Azada's Monument fragments in the Sands of Destiny shop, and 10 fragments unlocks the monument and begins construction. Shown on screen in a shop walkthrough. This contradicts the wiki twice over: the wiki prices the fragments in gems rather than crystals, and gives construction as 20 fragments rather than 10.

M013single

Azada's Monument gives 3,000 might, 3% experience and 6% valor at its base level, and runs to level 45, where it reaches 35% experience and 70% valor.

M014single

Dice in Sands of Destiny come from the daily reward, daily missions and the battle pass, and Azada lamps from fully exploring a crypt advance the pass. Milestone rewards for rolling also pay Crystals of Desire and Ruler's Dice. The event cannot be maximised without spending.

M012single

Azada's Monument is not gated to T9 accounts, inferred from its valor points bonus rather than observed. A G6 gate has been suggested but not confirmed.

Eternal Guardian

M005single

Eternal Guardian fragments require all three specialists to be at T9 when Sands of Eternity opens, plus a division placement. Unlocking T9 during the event does not qualify. One creator, from personal experience, across two videos. The wiki records this source as unknown.

M006single

Sands of Eternity now runs for one day rather than two, is scheduled alongside Clash of Thrones, Shadow Invasion and Season's Legacy, and awards experience points only with no valor points.

M007single

Fragments have failed to deliver to a qualifying player while clanmates on the same run received theirs. A tech report is the stated remedy.
